Mitt Romney will be endorsed by American Conservative Union President David Keene today, reports Chris Cillizza for the Washington Post:
Less than 24 hours after former Gov. Mitt Romney (Mass.) jousted with his rivals over his conservative credentials at the CNN/YouTube debate in Florida, he is set to receive the endorsement from American Conservative Union President David Keene.Keene said he became "convinced that Mitt Romney represents our best hope for 2008" and added that in the weeks remaining before the Iowa caucuses on Jan. 3, 2008 he would work to persuade "my fellow conservatives that if we are serious about electing a conservative president in 2008, it's time to unite behind his candidacy."
Read the whole article at the above link. While endorsements rarely make or break a campaign, Keene has the credentials as a "movement conservative" going back to Reagan's 1976 campaign. Romney's weakness is his perceived "flip-flopping" to more conservative positions than he espoused when running two campaigns in Massachusetts, so the support of a bona fide conservative leader doesn't hurt.

"Keene has the credentials as a "movement conservative" going back to Reagan's 1976 campaign.-ja"
Ron Paul was one of only three congressmen to endorse Reagan in '76...ooweeoo...
BTW, Paul got the biggest intro applause at the latest "debate". Those taking on Paul (McCain) were practically booed off the stage, and the "war" has long exceeded it's shelf life per audience reaction.
I wouldn't mention it except that this debate took place (again!) in Florida (a wingnut stronghold, supposedly).
P.S. Put a fork in the Ghoul! And ready O.R. for incoming Moonman (Alien Autopsy, with money, alas! ie, It will live for next encounter with hu-man kind, only to lose to Hillary is able at all).
So: Paul will be around, Mitt's Money will be around. The next smoker is the Huckster vs. Lonesome Fred undercard event.
As a Bible reader, I must declare: the Huckster is full of pig shit.
But as a fervent anti-neocon I must also admit, Fred is very likable and has quiet potential. I find myself (almost) writing off his fronting for the Jewish gangster Libby as a symptom of his second childhood.

Wow, BryanD. You were able to come off crazy, inaccurate, and anti-semitic all at the same time. Congrats! Maybe you should be the new WH Spokesperson. Your support of Paul and Fred (albeit latent) shows just how out of touch you are with mainstream Republicans (and reality).

What's inaccurate in what I said?
And "Jewish" isn't a curse word, but neo-cons consider it a wince word for some reason. Self-loathing? Up to no good? Who knows.
But since "Scooter" "Libby" wears his "religious" fedora for pity points only during public arraignments, then he's the bringer-upper.
And "gangster" is an apt discriptor. He was Marc Rich's consigliere right before he was hired as Cheney's chief of staff!
You know who Marc Rich is, don't you? He's a fugitive from justice in the US and has bought safe haven for himself in Israel by "donating" multi-millions to various Zionist causes. He self-published his own book of "good deeds" as a clumsy PR device.
Here's the first hit under "libby marc rich":

My mild props to Fred were NOT! meant as an endorsement. Anyone who is suckered by the Hat Squad is too dumb or greedy to be a wise president. But he would be the least vomit-inducing among the Rudy McRomson clique of policy puppets.
And what "mainstream" are you in? And say "Hey!" to the tidy bowl man: "Clean-up on Aisle W!"
