Invading Iran was actually higher on the priority list than Iraq, but the phony "WMDs in Iraq" was deemed by the blundering Bush administration to be a more sale-able lie, so the idiots started there instead.

The phony bit about Iraq moving their WMDs to Syrai was all part of their liars' script, but by mid-2006 Iraq was such a debacle that the Bushies couldn't extricate the troops and muster the PR support to make the move on Syria.

Now Iraq is in absolute shambles and the Bush administration and the Republican'ts in Congress are trying to move ahead with the plan as originally formulated anyway and get to Iran before their sorry, lying asses are voted out of office next November.

Meanwhile an impatient Israel went ahead and tried to take care of Hezzbollah on their own (and botched that pretty badly) and more recently made a move on Syria -- frustrated with the failures of the US efforts in their behalf.

Scrapiron writes with the same venom of David Horowitz or Bill Kristol when it comes to denouncing anyone critial of bombing soverign middle eastern countries. I'm somewhat surprised he was able to write an entire paragraph without using either of the terms Islamofascist, War on Terror or 9-11.
