An impressive group of foreign policy experts from past Republican Administrations is endorsing John McCain for President. They explain at NRO:
Notwithstanding these challenges, however, there is scope for advancing prosperity for all through the careful exploitation of science and human creativity under enlightened leadership. Whether our country is capable of orchestrating our pursuit of such a course depends fundamentally on who leads us in the years ahead. Never before has there been such a premium on experience and proven leadership. For that reason and in sober consideration of what in our judgment it takes to govern the United States: the ability to parse problems correctly, to bring sound analysis to bear, to define viable strategies, to integrate resources, engage allies, and move decisively to lead our country to viable lasting solutions, we have concluded that Senator John McCain is the most qualified candidate to become our next president. We strongly endorse the candidacy of Senator McCain and as a matter of deep personal conviction, call upon all Americans to join us in that judgment.

Alexander M. Haig Jr.
Lawrence S. Eagleburger
James R. Schlesinger
John F. Lehman Jr.
R. James Woolsey Jr.

Here's an answer to your question from yesterday bryanD. If Ron Paul were to appoint John McCain have total autonomous control and authority over all foreign policy and have nothing to do with it himself, then he'd have my vote. :)
Actually I have to agree that from a foreign policy standpoint McCain is probably the best of the Republican wannabes. I think Huckabee is second and maybe Rudy in third. I still haven't heard enough from Thompson to come to any conclusions about him and Romney has no credibility with me so I don't care what he says. Paul is by far the worst of the Republicans in this area, but still better than any of the socialist, err I mean Democrat wannabes.

If he and Al Haig each went off half-cocked, together they'd be cocky.

P. Bunyan:
Nah, Hillary's pretty tough, I think. She certainly understands the concept of enemies and the importance of destroying them.
I actually borrowed that line from Tom Smith at The Right Coast . . . I'm thinking of keeping it, though! ;-)

The demented charade McCain engaged in during the machinations over the Military Commissions Act handed Bush his suspension of habeus corpus and immunity for his torturers, while allowing McCain to [falsely] appear to have resisted the President's demands.
We have every reason to believe that a McCain administration would just be a W's administration redux.
I didn't think McCain had a way to make me hate him more than McCain-Feingold did, but he dug deep and found a way when he finessed the Military Commissions Act through the Senate.

Thanks for the al-Qaida perspective. McCain probably never had much chance of winning the demented anti-American vote anyway, though.

The truth can be very humorous.
The sad part of that truth is that Bill's wife's enemies and America's enemies are not one in same.

One thing, though. This member list is so notorious. Could be agit-prop. McCain is controlled but not housebroken. Could kill house neocon in fit of rage at dinner. Neocons are raised to "stay inside, buhbee. The goyim!"
I think the neocons have made concord with Hillary.
