When Hillary "pledged" not to campaign in states violating DNC rules on early primaries, she didn't really mean she wouldn't go to those states, which aren't in violation technically yet, and besides, she was only fundraising and not "campaigning," anyway . . . we already posted that Hillary and Obama don't intend to keep their "pledges" and now Charlotte Eby notices for The Quad-City Times:
A little more than a week after Hillary Clinton's presidential campaign promised Iowa Democrats she would not campaign in states that broke party rules by scheduling early primary contests, Clinton held six events Monday in Florida.* * * * *
The state has until later this month to come up with a new primary date, which means Florida is not yet considered to be breaking the rule.
Clinton spokesman Mark Daley said Clinton held six events in Florida on Monday, five of which were fundraising events and one public campaign event on senior issues.
Fundraising events in states that break the rules are allowed under the pledge.
"We have every intention of upholding the pledge" the campaign made Sept. 1, Daley said.
Carrie Giddins, spokeswoman for the Iowa Democratic Party, said Clinton also did not violate the pledge because Florida is not yet considered noncompliant.
Read the rest at the link above. Either the "pledge" was utterly meaningless, or Iowans forgot to read the fine print.
In dealing with the Clintons, of course, it is always advisable to pin down their definition of "is" first . . .
