Republican Rep. John Doolittle of California has close ties to Jack Abramoff, and he and his wife "have been cooperating with investigators," according to the congressman. Nonetheless, the FBI raided their northern Virginia home on Friday, according to this Washington Post report by James V. Grimaldi and Susan Schmidt:
The FBI on Friday raided the Northern Virginia home consulting business owned by the wife of Rep. John T. Doolittle (R-Calif.), whose ties to convicted lobbyist Jack Abramoff have been under investigation for two years, sources familiar with the matter said. Agents seized computers and documents.
Doolittle's wife, Julie, operates Sierra Dominion Financial Services Inc. out of the couple's home in Oakton. Since 2005, a Justice Department task force has been looking into payments made by Abramoff and other lobbyists to Doolittle's wife and the spouses of other lawmakers.
Read the whole article at the link above. It seems a bit late in the investigation to be getting search warrants. Typically, the likelihood of incriminating evidence being where law enforcement looks for it is inversely proportional to the time which has passed since the investigation became public knowledge.
Of course, in this case, the FBI is dealing with members of Congress, not members of Mensa.

On a scale of 1 to 10 I give this quote a 10. Brings up the question, are all members of congress qualified for federal aid due to mental illness, or do only people suffering from mental illness run for congress?

Oh my, another repug under investigation? Can't believe it. Somebody is just picking on the crooked repugs. When will it end? Time people get a clue, the batch of repugs elected to office refused to do the job of the people, just the rich corporations. Will wonders never cease?
The puggies K street bullshit will continue to haunt them for several years, and more players are continuing to sing for lesser jail time so the bigger fish are going to go down.
That is part of the 30% that support Bush? What does that say?
