Also, I'm afraid that lefties will try to hit blogs, talkers and others with charges that their work constitutes an "in kind contribution"?

eddie bear , try to hit the blogs. The left is in a total panic because of the damage the blogs has inflicted on the Antique MSM's lies. The liberal progressives (aka communist) don't want to hear the truth. Dirty Harry and his cohorts, including the RINO McCain (McCain/Feingold) have been trying to destroy the constitution for years. So many Americans are now brainwashed they just may do it in the next couple of years. I still see a shooting war right here in the U.S. in less than 10 years.

So flood the FEC with registrations. You bloggers are out of the closet and proud so show it. If it does pass I hope that all of you do your registration on the same day and really give the government whatfor. I believe if you have to do it on-line it will kill their server and if it must be done by mail make sure to get certified receipt. I though will be the first to donate for lawyers to challange the legality of the law.

So let me get this straight, if I have a blog for geology students and post something about the USGS budget and I get 500 visitors I would have to register?

The ethics reform bill passed in the senate, however the Bennett Amendment did get added --
The Senate, on a 55-43 vote, approved an amendment pushed by Sen. Robert Bennett, R-Utah, to strip a provision requiring reporting of "grass-roots" lobbying.
>THAT wording slipped in by the democrats would have required Under the legislation (Section 220), grassroots organizations that attempt to "influence the general public" to contact members of Congress would have to register as lobbyists and file financial reports -- or face a $200,000 fine. The requirements could apply to a preacher who goes on TV or radio and tells listeners to call their congressman in support of a particular issue, such as a constitutional amendment against homosexual "marriage."
Can the dems be so brazen as to attempt to take freedom of speech from 'we the people?'
Can someone find out if this is part of the bill?
Looks like the dems are bent on curtailing any speech they find 'inappropriate' - you know, like
saying a prayer, saying the word GOD, CREATOR, saying anything with a SPIRIT within the words.
Anyone read the book 1984 by George Orwell? In the book 'the ministry' (government) had its own language called newspeak...I forget the plot really but essentially, there were words that were forbidden. It was BIG BROTHER watching.
Funny ain't it folks? the socialists have no faith in a GOOD GOD over them, hate such idea of having to listen and obey 'such spirit' but they willingly will submit thier wills to another human being, no better than they. Sad. very sad.
