An attack -- or even an attempted attack -- by Islamic extremists on Saudi Arabia's oil sector would have disastrous consequences on the world market and the price per barrel, analysts warn. Of more than 700 people arrested in the course of the last six months in Saudi Arabia, dozens had been part of cells charged with preparing attacks against oil sites, according to authorities in Riyadh.

What if any effect will the addition of another candidate have on the race?
HARTFORD, Conn. -- The Connecticut U.S. Senate race could become a four-way fight with the Green Party saying it has submitted enough signatures to place a candidate on the ballot in November.
The Green Party of Connecticut submitted 13,000 signatures Wednesday on behalf of Ralph Ferrucci, the party's candidate for the U.S. Senate

Should the Dems be clapping about LaFool winning the Dem primary in CT?? Now wait a minute, isn't CT a Dem stronghold of the northeast anyhow? Joe was always more moderate the left anyhow, so this isn't at all surprising.
I am quite happy to see Joe become an independent. The country needs a party which is more moderate, and he more then fits the bill.
He will no doubt take CT as a moderate. Not all the people in CT can be that whacked to cast a vote for LaFool.

While Lieberman has been careful to say he will caucus with the Democrats if elected as an independent, just the tone of these KosKids may grate on him over the next two-and-a-half months.
If you thought they were obnoxious, foul-mouthed, and shrill before, wait 'til you get a load of 'em when they think they are winning.
It could be enough to tick Joe off.

Is the one with 6% the Republican? That is just friggin pathetic. People laughed at the Dems for giving up on 'solid red' states, but looking at CT, MA, and especially the walking-talking-dog-poo that the Republicans are running here in NY, I'd say the Republicans better find a way to get reinvolved in blue states for national elections. I watched half the debate between the two R's running to go up against Hillary, and it's disgusting that these fetid piles of personal attacks and soundbites are all that NY could come up with. If howard dean has one good idea, and I think that's about all he's good for, it's that the Dems should contest every state. (of course they can't afford to do it, but that's another story). You can't win over the state that's the biggest terrorism target in the country against the party that wants to leave it undefended? give me a break. (and, no, more money for radios and gas masks for NYC FDs or the occasional radiation detector is not what I would call 'defending' the city).
