Rightroots Update

On Tuesday of this week the Rightroots website was unveiled. Rightroots is the conservative blogosphere's effort to help Republican candidates in competitive congressional races raise money. I described the effort in some detail earlier this week.

So far, I am happy to report, the effort has been a success. Representative Jack Kingston challenged Rightroots to raise $26,000 by Friday and pledged to contribute $14,000 to Rightroots candidates if the goal was met. Already, at the time of this writing, over $32,000 has been contributed to Rightroots candidates! Thanks to all those who have helped by contributing and spreading the word. Be sure to check in at the Rightroots site often to follow the progress being made and please contribute when you can.

Was very very happy to note... (Below threshold)
Robin:

Was very very happy to note that the GOP candidate for my district's house seat (NY 24 open by Boehlert's retirement), RAy Meier is a recipient of Rightroots support. Meier is a superb candidate and significantly more conservative that Boehlert, who was a member of Main Street America, the moderate wing of the GOP. This district fielded a conservative candidate to run against Boehlert in 2004 and between the two garnered almost 70% of the district's votes. We should be able to send a more conservative representative to congress easily.

Thanks for the hard work on this.

That's good news. The Netnu... (Below threshold)

That's good news. The Netnuts may not know what they have unleashed by getting the right side of the blogospehere interested in this idea.
