The more Steele talks, the more he impresses and the more foolish the Democrats look who insist that any black Republican must be a token.
I agree that Mfume winning helps Steele tremendously, which the Democrats certainly know as they have done everything in their power to assist their white candidate and trash Mfume.
Quite a contrast we might add to their "hands-off" approach in helping Lieberman in the CT primary.

Steele reminds me of Ronald Reagan; honest, plainspoken, with enormous personal charm, and extremely intelligent.
President Steele has a nice ring to it, doesn't it? Man of Steele. The Steele Doctrine. The Steele Season. Steele doesn't bend.
By the time he runs, some of my kids will be eligible to vote, adding to the demographic landslide that conservative families are bringing to the fight... a happy Monday thought.

I like Steele's cash on hand numbers, especially after the two Democrats spend a ton of money fighting in the primary (and ESPECIALLY if the nearly broke Mfume wins the primary)
I also like Steele's favorability rating per Rasmussen.
As always for me, the bottom line is that the more money and time the Democrats have to expend fighting for what should be an ultra-lock safe seat in dark blue Maryland, the better for the GOP's other contested races...

You know, even if Steele loses he'll force the media to spend time, effort and money in a state that should be a media lock.
Besides, there's an open seat from Maryland for the U.S. 4th Circuit Court of Appeals. Steele is a lawyer and not even 50 years old. If he loses he'll be a former Lt. Gov. from Maryland with time to kill. Even the Bush White House would not be able to mess that up.
Me thinks this is heading for a win-win scenario (big-time lose-lose, for the left), no matter what happens in November.
