An attack -- or even an attempted attack -- by Islamic extremists on Saudi Arabia's oil sector would have disastrous consequences on the world market and the price per barrel, analysts warn. Of more than 700 people arrested in the course of the last six months in Saudi Arabia, dozens had been part of cells charged with preparing attacks against oil sites, according to authorities in Riyadh.

I would somewhat disagree... Thus far the allegations against former governor Siegelman have yet to hit their mark, and in spite of the joint case now before the court that has tied Siegelman to former HealthSouth CEO Richard Scrushy, it is still a toss-up as to whether or not convictions will fall (although this judge is no friend to Scrushy). The smart money says no, but they've been wrong before. Lt. Gov. Lucy Baxley has enjoyed some time in the lead over Don, but she's not running away with it. So long as the unsinkable and utterly rediculous Roy Moore doesn't damage Gov. Riley's purse and/or image (any more than it already is after the tax debacle at the beginning of his term), it is his to lose. However, by entering into a case with Attorney General Troy King to stop legislators from spending their discretionary spending on schools in their district, Riley is doing the best he can to get a clear shot of his own foot.
This is all in spite of the fact that the economy in Alabama grew by (I believe) about 11% last year. Unemployment under 4%. But this IS Alabama...
Oh, and don't forget the real race this season... assuming they get the nominations from their parties... George Wallace, Jr. vs. Jim Folsom, Jr. for Lt. Gov. Surreal.

As a life-long Alabamian, Iam permitted to say that only in Alabama can a (Democrat) gubernatorial candidate, who is on trial DURING THE ELECTION for corrupt acts and extortion committed during an earlier term as governeor, stand a real chance of winning.
O, tempore! O, mores!

As a recent Alabamian, I would have to say, only in Alabama or Louisiana could a crook on trial stand a chance of winning.
